Leadership Development for
Mobilizing Reproductive Health (LDM)

"…it is essential that leadership development takes place across sectors—from within communities and districts, to local and national level organizations, right up to the policy makers and national leaders. It is also critical that this leadership be united in its sense of collective responsibility and action."

LDM Country Manager, Kamyla Marvi
describing the need for leadership development for Reproductive Health Leaders in Pakistan

Program ParticipantsFrom 2001 to 2011, the Institute of International Education West Coast Center (IIE WCC) implemented the LDM program, supporting the leadership development and engagement of reproductive health and population leaders in the poorest regions of Ethiopia, India, Nigeria, Pakistan and the Philippines. The overall goal of the program was to build and sustain a critical core network of well-trained emerging and established leaders with the vision, commitment, knowledge and skills to improve reproductive health outcomes in each of the countries.

To support the long-term sustainability of leadership development, LDM worked with key partners to develop, strengthen and institutionalize in-country leadership development programs.

Our vision

A critical mass of diverse leaders working individually and collectively will have affected systemic changes that improve Reproductive Health options and overall quality of life, especially for vulnerable populations.
