February 25th Sprint Check In

Hello Everyone! -Taylor

Hey Taylor, did you catch Obama's speech? -- Julia

Yes!! That speech is exactly why I voted for him! -Taylor

Hi Julia and Taylor! Was not able to watch the speech. Heard though good things about it in the wires. Also would like to acknowledge that I already received the LPI manual for facilitators yesterday. Am almost finished reading it and excited to get it off the ground soon. - Mags

Mags - I'm so glad that you received the LPI manual so quickly and hope it can be useful for you!!

I'm already planning ahead and have pegged a date for the debriefing workshop (around last week of April) but would have to wait until it is definite that we can go ahead with the announcement and instructions for fellows. - Mags

Hi Mags,

Glad to hear you got the facilitator's manual. I'm especially curious to hear your feedback since you are the first to use it. We had a great meeting with Barry this afternoon. Basically, he is very interested in doing some research with us and we talked about developing a model of what we wanted to explore, including what additional questions. We have another meeting with him in a week and should be able to nail some of that down and share with everyone else for feedback. I am concerned about the timeframe if you want to administer the LPI by the end of April, especially if we also want to translate the tool in the Philippines. Perhaps that could wait for a later date.

Hi Julia! Thanks for the update. Great to hear that you had a great meeting with Barry. Would be very happy to embark on the translation work(in Tagalog and Visayan dialect) for the LPI in case we decide to do it. - Mags

Hi Mags -- That's great. I'm not sure how long the translation process would take, but I think it would push your end-of-April date back a bit. Julia Save Hi, everyone. Based on my limited log-ins/check-ins, I have observed that wiki is good for info sharing and collective editing of documents. It also enabled me to compare it with other fora such as chatroom, YM, or even Facebook where you can easily see who's online and who is telling what on screen in real time. Overall, this wikisprint allows me to appreciate our connectivity which strengthens our communication and bonding. Regards and I'm now off to the session hall. ---Bicbic from the Philippines :)

Bicbic - it was great to have you on the sprint. I wish it had Facebook's chat feature too -- it would add another level to the WikiSprint. Enjoy session hall. - Taylor

February 24th Sprint Check In

Hello everyone, I am here! Is anyone else on as yet/today? Kamyla, Pakistan

Good Morning/Evening Kamyla. Great to see you on the wiki. - Julia

Hello Kamyla and Julia - I'm here too! It is great to see both of you on the Wiki! - Taylor

Hi and good evening! I'm here too - Mags

Hello, everyone. What's up?--Bicbic from the Philippines

I just checked in for today but will have to sign off early. I need to wake up very early tomorrow for an out-of-town workshop, somewhere in the east of Metro Manila. So good night everyone. I will just check in again tomorrow noon, Manila time -- Bicbic from the Philippines

Hi all -- I just checked in at 6:45 pm (had a late conference call at the office). Our whole team will be on tomorrow morning also. Glad to see some of you on today. -- Cheryl

I also have to check out as it is already past midnight here in Manila. I will check in again tomorrow for sure. So see you all! - Mags

It's great to see some of our Pakistani colleagues registered! -- Cheryl

How can you tell Pakistani colleagues have registered? Kamyla

Sorry -- there are two fellows from NIGERIA! Also, I see Caroline Ruiz is on from the Philippines. A good tip is to keep checking the "What's New" link on the grey bar and you can see what's being edited. --Cheryl

Hot Tips

To see a list of all the pages currently on the wiki, click on "what's new" on the grey bar and when you get to the list of what's new (which is helpful to see what has recently been edited) you can see a link to "all pages." There are some things that need to be looked at and contributed to so have fun with it!

Ongoing Questions

What Leadership Development for Mobilizing Reproductive Health documents would you like to be added to the Wiki?

Do we have the latest version of the story collecting tool? The one that is on here is a bit out of date I think. Maybe we could create a bigger page highlighting stories of Fellows.

India National Meeting report -- by the time of the Sprint or at the time of the Sprint

What about a digital story? -Great idea! (Taylor)

I think it's an interesting topic to be included and could be beneficial if the new version of the story collecting tool is also added. Definitely Julia is planning on adding that today

Are there any documents or resources that you would not like to add to the Wiki?

Internal Financial Documents

Personal Contact Information of Fellows, unless the Fellows themselves add it

Hi, Cheryl. I've pasted the short biosketch on my page and a picture cropped from our Mindanao Future Search Conference. I had fond memories of that tri-regional conference and I guess it shows on the pix. :) bicbic
